The un-named hero of Jonny Gibbings’ debut comedy novel Malice in Blunderland is about to experience the worst week of his life.

Waking up in a boat in a car park, miles from home and missing one shoe is just the start…

By the end of the week he will have been beaten up more than once, arrested by the police several times and crossed the twisted leader of an Ukranian Mafia Cartel. The very, very bad sex with a nymphomaniac wheelchair-user, getting mistaken for a serial rapist and facing death – his own and someone else’s - proves that his life is spiraling out of control.

Not bad for a man whose biggest claim to fame so far has been his ability to do nothing constructive at work except play practical jokes with his nerdy colleague’s frozen cheese sandwich.

With its idiosyncratic spelling and grammar, unique internal monologues and a sprinkling of invented words, Malice in Blunderland is as wild as Tucker Max’s I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell and has more references to drugs than Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting!

Not for the faint-hearted, Gibbings leaves his readers with a warm glow inside and an inane grin on their faces … not unlike that of his nameless and unfortunate hero.

Malice in Blunderland, like many of life’s pleasures, should come with a health warning. Crossing the proverbial ‘line’ more than once, it will have you stifling laughter before guiltily glancing around to make sure no-one is reading over your shoulder. Wonderfully sardonic and intelligent writing with which Guy Ritchie would have a field day.
