Greg Cummings' Gorillaland – one of the most frequently borrowed books at Young Adults Reading Program.

Date Added: 24-06-2013

In a recent interview featured on the Childrens Book Review, Cutting Edge Press was delighted to learn that Greg Cummings' Gorillaland is doing its bit to promote reading amongst young adults.

Amy Cheney currently works at Write to Read– Juvenile Justice Center, an Alameda County Library program in partnership with the Alameda County Office of Education and the Alameda County Probation Department.

In the recent interview she reported that Cummings’ whip-smart adventure set in the Congolese jungle is one of the most frequently borrowed books at the centre and highlighted the children’s affinity with tales about child soldiers.

CEP is always keen to promote literacy, and this is fantastic news- we’re delighted that young adults are discovering Cummings’ fast-paced page turner, and hope more and more children are encouraged to read, and write stories of their own, as a result of the program.
